Bálint Márton Primary and Secondary School and Sports Centre, Törökbálint

The new building of the Bálint Márton Primary and Secondary School and its associated sports centre represent a major community investment in Törökbálint. The development aimed to meet the growing demand for school places and expand local sports facilities. The school, comprising 16 classrooms and 8 specialist classrooms, also includes lecture and communal spaces, a sports hall and a swimming pool complex.

Commissioned by Magyar Nemzeti Vagyonkezelő Zrt. (Hungarian National Asset Management Inc.), we provided project management and technical supervision services during the final phase of the previously suspended development. Our responsibilities included coordinating construction activities, managing technical and scheduling issues, supervising the quality and proper execution of the works, and supporting the handover and acceptance process.

The technical complexity of the project arose from the different requirements of its educational and sports facilities. The school, the sports hall that can be divided into three separate sections, and the swimming pool complex with two pools form interconnected yet independently operable units. The swimming facility features a 33.3-metre competition pool with a movable end wall, allowing it to be converted into a 25-metre pool to accommodate different sporting and competition requirements.

The energy-efficient operation of the complex is supported by a ground-source heat pump system and solar thermal collectors contributing to the swimming facility's heat supply. The development provided the town with a modern educational and sports complex that serves both the everyday needs of students and the sports and leisure activities of the local community.
