Szilvásvárad Lipizzan Equestrian Centre

The Szilvásvárad Lipizzan Equestrian Centre was modernised as part of the comprehensive development of the State Stud Farm of Szilvásvárad, one of Hungary’s leading centres for equestrian sports and the breeding of the historic Lipizzan horse breed. The aim of the investment was to create modern sports and event infrastructure suitable for year-round equestrian training, hosting national and international competitions, as well as tourism and community events.

We provided project management and engineering consultancy services for the development. Our project management team supported the organisation and coordination of the multi-phase investment, while our engineers provided technical consultancy to address complex engineering challenges and coordinate the implementation of the various facilities.

The first phase of the development included the renovation of the indoor riding arena, incorporating competition and warm-up areas, spectator seating and support facilities. The subsequent phase provided facilities for visiting horses and horse transport vehicles, followed by the refurbishment of the outdoor competition arena and the stadium with a capacity of approximately 6,500 spectators. A key feature of the project was the coordinated implementation of buildings with different functions, specialised equestrian arenas, spectator and logistics areas, and the associated utility and transport infrastructure.

The development provided Szilvásvárad with an international-standard equestrian centre, supporting athlete training and competition hosting while strengthening the tourism appeal of the town and the surrounding region. The modernised facility subsequently hosted the World Four-in-Hand Driving Championships, demonstrating its capacity to accommodate major international sporting events.
