Városmajor 70 - Diagnostic Center
Our company prepared the construction (execution) plans for the project on behalf of the general contractor ÉPKAR Zrt., in a design-and-build scheme. A total of 42 disciplines were involved in the design process, with their work coordinated through BIM modelling. We had to create a safe environment that meets special requirements for high-end medical technologies (MR, CT, DSA, ICU, monitored care units). All these complex functions and requirements had to be accommodated on a very small plot, which posed a special challenge for everyone involved.
The seven-storey Diagnostic and Therapeutic Centre of the Városmajor Heart and Vascular Clinic includes, among others:
- a high-tech imaging diagnostic centre with two CT scanners and one MR scanner,
- a hybrid interventional and electrophysiology laboratory equipped with some of the world’s most advanced technologies,
- 10 new outpatient consulting rooms providing more comfortable conditions for patients,
- dedicated examination rooms and a separate waiting area for heart-transplanted, immunosuppressed patients to ensure safe ambulatory care,
- an independent intensive care unit with 8 beds for heart transplant recipients and patients requiring circulatory support,
- new teaching spaces, including a lecture hall and a PhD research room to support medical education.
With this development, the Városmajor clinic can become the largest heart transplant centre on the continent and a true European supercentre – at a time when cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death worldwide.
