TEVA Sterile Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility

TEVA’s sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Gödöllő was developed as a major investment to expand the company’s pharmaceutical production capacity. The approximately 15,000 m² facility comprises six production modules and associated support areas, designed for the manufacture of eye drops, injectable medicines and other sterile pharmaceutical products, primarily serving the Hungarian, European and US markets.

Our responsibilities included project management and engineering consultancy services for the development. Our project management team supported the organisation of this complex industrial project and coordinated cooperation among the parties involved, while our engineers provided expert advice on technical matters throughout the implementation process.

The project’s main distinguishing feature was the strict technological and hygiene requirements associated with sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing. Separate cleanroom zones were established within the production modules, with controlled and segregated routes for personnel and material flows. Coordinating the different manufacturing and packaging functions, specialised ventilation systems and mechanical infrastructure required to support the facility’s operation presented a complex engineering challenge.

The investment enabled TEVA to establish a production capacity of up to 200 million units of sterile pharmaceutical products annually. At the time of its opening, the development created 263 new jobs in Gödöllő and significantly expanded the company’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities in Hungary.
