Vegetable Oil Plant – Kalocsa, Foktő
The expansion of the Pannon Vegetable Oil Plant in Foktő was connected to the development of one of Central Europe’s significant vegetable oil processing facilities. The plant has its own port, as well as rail and road connections, which are particularly important for the delivery of raw materials and the distribution of finished products.
The investment included several traditionally structured buildings of three to seven storeys, as well as four steel-framed industrial buildings between 15 and 39 metres high. The development involved the fabrication and assembly of 850 tonnes of steel structure. The completed expansion strengthened the technological and support infrastructure of the plant, which operates with an annual processing capacity of 600,000 tonnes.
We participated in the investment with project management and technical supervision services. Our work focused on monitoring construction processes, reviewing technical content, supporting quality assurance and providing professional control over implementation.
The professional complexity of the task came from the need to coordinate high steel-framed technology buildings, traditionally structured support buildings, and the operational and logistics requirements of a large-capacity industrial plant in operation.
The development strengthened an important Hungarian site for vegetable oil production and agricultural processing. The operation of the Foktő plant represents not only industrial capacity, but is also closely linked to the region’s agricultural, transport and logistics network.
