Doosan Copper Foil Plant Tatabánya

Doosan Copper Foil Plant – Phase I and Auxiliary Buildings

The South Korean company Doosan's copper foil manufacturing plant was developed in the Tatabánya–Környe Industrial Park to meet growing demand from the European electric vehicle and battery industries. The facility produces ultra-thin copper foil used in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. The first production phase was designed for an annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes.

Our team was responsible for the general design of the Phase I production hall and the auxiliary buildings, including office facilities, serving both Phases I and II. The design process required the coordination of production-related requirements, structural solutions and supporting building functions.

One of the project's key engineering tasks was selecting appropriate structural materials and building systems. Working closely with the client, our design team evaluated and compared different technical alternatives to identify solutions suited to the plant's functional and engineering requirements.

The development contributed to the expansion of Europe's battery industry supply capacity and strengthened the role of the Tatabánya–Környe region in international industrial manufacturing.
