W-Scope Separator Film Plant
W-Scope Hungary’s separator film plant in Nyíregyháza is the South Korean battery industry supplier’s first production facility in Europe. The investment, implemented in the Southern Industrial Park of Nyíregyháza, is being developed for the production of separator film used in lithium-ion batteries, an important component of the electric vehicle industry.
The development creates a large-scale, technology-intensive industrial environment. In addition to the production functions, the supporting, utility and administrative areas required for the plant’s operation also had to be coordinated. In a facility of this kind, the close interdependence of production technology, building structures, mechanical and electrical systems, and operational needs defines the design work.
We participated in the project with building design and CÉH+ BIM services, connected to a design & build structure. Our design team’s task was to prepare and coordinate the architectural and discipline-specific designs in line with rapidly changing industrial and technological requirements.
The BIM-based working method played a particularly important role in the design process. In large-scale, complex industrial buildings, model-based coordination helps identify clashes between disciplines, supports the traceability of technical content and assists construction preparation. This project required an environment where design accuracy directly influences the safety and schedulability of implementation.
The Nyíregyháza plant is one of the defining investments in the region’s industrial development. The project creates new production capacity in the European battery industry supply chain, while generating a significant number of new jobs and further strengthening Nyíregyháza’s role in the industrial region of Eastern Hungary.
