Syngenta Seed Processing Plant

The Syngenta seed processing plant in Mezőtúr is one of the company's key facilities for seed production and processing in Hungary. The first phase of the multi-stage development included a processing line for receiving, husking and drying harvested crops, a processing tower and a warehouse building.

Commissioned by the Danish main contractor Cimbria, we provided comprehensive building design services for the development. Our design team's work focused on creating buildings suited to the seed processing technology, taking into account the requirements of production processes, material handling and storage.

The technical complexity of the project arose from the interconnected industrial processes. Receiving, preparing, drying, processing and storing the harvested crops involved different architectural, structural and operational requirements. A key engineering challenge was coordinating these functions and designing buildings that could accommodate the technological equipment.

The original investment laid the foundation for the subsequent expansion of the Mezőtúr site. Following further developments, the plant became an important centre within Syngenta's European seed production and supply network, playing a significant role in the processing and preparation of maize and sunflower seeds for distribution.
