Development of the Mátra Power Plant

We are participating in an energy investment project of national significance in Visonta: as a key element in the transformation of the Mátra Power Plant, the development supports the construction of a modern combined-cycle gas turbine power plant.

The project aims to strengthen the stability of Hungary’s electricity system, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and environmental impact, and support the balanced integration of renewable energy sources into the grid.

Commissioned by Status KPRIA and West Hungária Bau, we are involved in the project as general designer. Our scope includes preparing the permitting and detailed design documentation for the buildings, surfaces and support systems housing the power plant technology, as well as design supervision during construction. Our work covers architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical design, along with the design of the entire civil infrastructure.

The project’s distinctiveness lies in its complex technical environment and the exceptionally high coordination demand arising from the collaboration of international participants. A characteristic of power plant developments is that the close cooperation of the various systems and stakeholders, together with the precise coordination of technical details, fundamentally influences the success of the entire investment.

This project is especially significant for us because it strengthens our design presence in a new sector while allowing us to contribute to the delivery of a large-scale industrial investment of strategic importance.
