Becton Dickinson Automated Sterilisation Facility
The Becton Dickinson investment is a development of major importance for the Hungarian medical technology industry: the approximately HUF 17 billion project will result in a robotized sterilization facility that is unique even within the region. The new building, with a gross floor area of approximately 4,475 sqm, will be connected to the existing production plant via a tunnel and will include a sterilization production unit, preparation, sterilization and neutralization chambers, an EO storage room, and a logistics warehouse area.
The aim of the development is to bring the sterilization process in-house, thereby simplifying the supply chain and supporting patient safety. The strategic significance of the investment is further strengthened by the fact that, as a result, the company may become the only European manufacturer of glass prefilled syringes with its own sterilization capacity.
CÉH zRt. is participating in the project as general designer. We are working on the preparation of a special industrial facility where technological requirements, safety considerations, and precision in every detail are of outstanding importance. The complexity of the project lies in meeting the needs of a highly specialized production technology while ensuring that the new functions are integrated seamlessly into the existing operational environment.
The investment is expected to create 25 new high value-added jobs. According to current plans, the development will be implemented between 2026 and 2028, with sterilization activities expected to begin in 2029.
