Benepack Aluminium Beverage Can Plant, Makó

The Benepack Hungary Kft. plant in Makó is a greenfield industrial facility developed for the production of aluminium beverage cans. It is the CPMC group’s first manufacturing plant outside China and was built on an approximately ten-hectare site in the Makó Industrial Park.

The plant has a planned annual production capacity of nearly one billion aluminium cans. It supplies beverage manufacturers in Hungary and the wider region, including markets in Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Austria.

The production hall forms the central element of the development and is supported by raw-material and finished-product storage, logistics areas, offices and staff facilities. Separate wastewater-treatment buildings were also constructed as part of the project.

As general designer, CÉH zRt. coordinated the production technology, building structures, mechanical and electrical systems, and site infrastructure. The design had to accommodate the space required by the high-speed production lines, material-handling routes and access for future operational maintenance.

Our project management team supported coordination of the design and construction processes, preparation of decisions and the flow of information between the project participants. Through technical supervision, we monitored compliance with the design, construction quality and the interfaces between the different disciplines.

Providing all three services within the same commission enabled the design intent, technological requirements and technical matters arising during construction to be managed within a consistent project framework.
