Renovation of Hungarian State Opera

Renovation of the Hungarian State Opera House: The modernization of the nearly 25,000-square-metre, 1,200-seat Hungarian State Opera House comprised two main components: the renovation and transformation of the public and operational areas, implemented as part of an investment of nearly HUF 10 billion, and the modernization of the stage technology, with a value of nearly HUF 7 billion. We contributed to the project with project management services, as well as 3D laser scanning surveys and BIM support. In 2026, the project received the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards recognition.

BIM survey of the Opera House: The 3D laser scanning survey of the building took four months and resulted in 8 billion measured points. Based on the survey data, a BIM base model was created, providing an accurate and detailed basis for the subsequent design phases. Consisting of 32 million graphic objects, the model faithfully reproduces even the smallest details of the nearly 25,000-square-metre listed historic building.
