Széchenyi Chain Bridge and Tunnel under Castle Hill
Our task was to prepare design documentation (a refurbishment study as well as permit and final designs) for the refurbishment of Széchenyi Chain Bridge substructures (i.e. bridgeheads, pilons and bastions) and the management of tasks related with the bridge as an architectural monument.
The whole design process was marked by project participants’ personal responsibility for the reconstruction of Hungary’s first permanent bridge over the Danube River, a key symbol of Hungary’s unity and of Budapest, the city of bridges and the Capital of Hungary, an unparalleled monument of our architectural heritage.
