BOSCH Campus pedestrian bridge

The Bridge Office participated in the task from the beginning of the design to the end of the approval phase, but of course, we also monitored the construction planning and execution. At the beginning of the design, we examined several route options before the final location of the bridge was established. The urban environment, the area burdened with utilities, and the road conditions under the bridge posed significant challenges during the design. With a slight exaggeration, we had to find the locations for the bridge supports in a handkerchief-sized area. During the project, we worked closely with our architects, placing great emphasis on details and quality to ensure the bridge is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. Designing the Bosch bridge involved not only engineering but also organizational and coordination challenges. Overall, the design of the Bosch bridge was a highly complex but exciting task, resulting in a spectacular, environmentally fitting, beautiful solution.

The special two-level pedestrian bridge, which connects the Campus 1 and Campus 2 buildings of the Robert Bosch company located on Sibrik Miklós Road, saves a lot of working hours annually for employees commuting between the two offices.

The 135-meter-long, two-level bridge, partially closed and glazed below, with a green roof above, is truly unique, as there is no similar pedestrian bridge of this scale either in Hungary or in Bosch's foreign building complexes. The upper level of the bridge connects the green areas of the two campuses, thus the bridge itself functions as a landscaped walkway extending the rooftop gardens.

In addition to the green outdoor connection, a protected route was also needed to ensure the weather-protected movement of laboratory equipment between the two campuses. Thus, the concept of the two-level "V" cross-section bridge was formed, consisting of a wider upper deck planted with greenery and a narrower, more closed lower deck.

The Bosch bridge design received commendation in the Kőbánya Architectural Award 2025. The Municipality recognized its significant positive cityscape-forming impact.
