NMHH Headquarters Extension and Technical Centre

The NMHH’s new building in Budapest’s District XIII combines the functions of a communications technology testing centre, data centre, office building and professional meeting venue. The nearly 15,000-square-metre complex accommodates an EMC laboratory with six test chambers, an IT data centre, conference and meeting facilities, offices, storage and plant rooms, as well as underground parking.

The EMC laboratory examines whether electrical and electronic equipment produces electromagnetic interference that could disrupt other devices or communications services. The largest chamber is capable of testing not only smaller electronic equipment and household appliances but also passenger vehicles.

The six chambers and 150 workstations support the NMHH’s regulatory and technical activities, as well as research and professional education. The laboratory is also capable of conducting TEMPEST-related measurements and may provide specialist testing services for other public organisations, reducing the need to use foreign or manufacturer-operated facilities.

CÉH zRt. provided comprehensive project management, design review and technical supervision services. Bringing together specialist laboratories, critical IT infrastructure and conventional office functions required close coordination between the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and technological systems. Our work supported the technical control of this complex scope and cooperation between the parties involved in the development.

The centre also contributes to the education of future communications professionals. Its laboratories and 160-seat conference hall can accommodate training programmes, professional events and future technological and scientific projects.

Renewable energy sources, energy-efficient building systems and extensive landscaped areas form part of the development. Several thousand plants were introduced as part of the external landscaping.
