Design of a New Research Building for the MTA Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences

The development of the Research Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences aimed to provide a new research building for three research institutes in Budapest. The project was intended to create modern research facilities while also accommodating scientific conferences and public outreach activities.

The planned building included research workspaces and laboratories, a conference hall with a capacity of 180 people, and a visitor centre designed for 50 guests. Coordinating the different spatial and technical requirements of research, conference and visitor facilities was an important aspect of the design process.

Our team was responsible for preparing the building permit and detailed construction documentation for the new research building. Our design work helped establish the technical foundations for facilities tailored to the specific functional requirements of scientific research, supporting the development of Hungary's astronomy and earth sciences research infrastructure.
