Green House office building
Green House, located in Budapest’s District XIII, is one of Skanska’s notable sustainable office developments. Completed in 2012, the building provides 17,800 m² of leasable space and 252 parking spaces across three underground levels. It was the first commercial office development in Hungary to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
Our responsibilities included project management and technical supervision. Throughout the implementation, our engineers supported compliance with the technical requirements, monitored construction quality and helped coordinate the work of the project participants.
Alongside flexible office spaces, energy- and water-efficient solutions played a key role in the technical concept of Green House. The use of geothermal energy, heat recovery, solar-assisted hot water production, as well as the utilisation of rainwater and groundwater all contribute to the building’s resource-efficient operation. The inner garden, roof terraces and biodiverse green roofs are also integral parts of the building’s environmental concept.
The professional significance of the project is reflected in several Hungarian and international awards. Following its completion, Green House received considerable professional recognition for both its sustainable and architectural solutions.
