Raiffeisen Bank Burgenland

The design competition concept prepared for the new provincial centre of Raiffeisen Bank Burgenland explored the possibility of a modern, sustainable office building in Eisenstadt, designed for long-term functionality. The assignment was not only about defining the architectural character of a banking centre, but also about finding the right balance between efficient office operation, representative appearance and environmentally conscious design.

CÉH zRt. contributed to the development of the concept through its building design expertise. Already in the competition phase, it was important that the building meet high sustainability expectations, while also supporting everyday use, energy performance and architectural quality in a consistent way.

The concept targeted 900 points and GOLD level in the Austrian klimaaktiv certification system. As part of the design work, the building’s energy certificate was also prepared, supporting the technical foundation of the sustainability goals.

Environmentally conscious operation was supported by several specific solutions. Rainwater utilisation, passive external shading and the timber roof structure all served the aim of creating a building that is not only energy-efficient, but also usable in the long term and able to operate in a climate-conscious way.

The value of the project lies in the fact that architectural quality, energy performance and sustainability aspects were treated together already at the concept development stage. CÉH zRt. worked on the competition material in cooperation with an Austrian partner office, as well as experts specialised in sustainability and rainwater management.
