Debrecen Airport – Fire Station

The fire station at Debrecen Airport was designed as a development connected to the safe operation of the airport. The aim of the investment was to provide the airport’s new fire base with a modern, well-organised background adapted to the specific operational needs of an airport environment.

An airport fire station is not a conventional support building. Its operation focuses on rapid response, the proper placement of vehicles and equipment, and ensuring the everyday working conditions of the on-duty staff. The building must support standby operation, emergency response processes and the operational safety of the airport at the same time.

We participated in the project with building design services. We prepared the building permit and construction design documentation for the new fire base. During the design process, architectural and discipline-specific solutions had to be coordinated in a way that also met the strict operational and safety requirements of the airport environment.

The specific professional character of the task came from the need to design a building connected to special infrastructure and of key importance from an operational safety perspective. In such a facility, functional layout, clear traffic connections, the rapid movement of vehicles and reliable technical operation are especially important.

The value of the development lies in the fact that it contributes to the safer and more efficient long-term operation of Debrecen Airport. As an important element of airport infrastructure, the new fire base supports the airport’s further development and the strengthening of its regional role.
