Jász Street 72 Passive House

The municipal residential building at 72 Jász Street in Budapest’s District XIII is a good example of energy-efficient housing. Developed as part of the district’s municipal rental housing programme, the building provides 35 modern apartments designed for low energy consumption, long-term sustainability and comfortable living conditions.

Working in cooperation with ZACC Építésziroda, our building design team prepared the multidisciplinary building permit and detailed construction documentation. Throughout the design process, we focused on meeting passive house requirements, optimising energy performance and ensuring a comfortable indoor environment for residents.

The building consists of two five-storey residential blocks. Its energy demand is reduced through 20 cm thick external wall insulation, high-performance windows and shading systems. Heating and cooling are provided by a heat pump system, while heat recovery ventilation supplies the apartments with fresh air. LED lighting, individual consumption metering and a building automation system further support energy-efficient operation.

The landscaped courtyard, green roof and two accessible apartments contribute to residents’ quality of life. Combining energy-efficient engineering solutions with affordable municipal rental housing, the development helps expand access to modern, high-quality homes in the district.
