PEPCO Logistics Centre

PEPCO’s regional logistics centre in Gyál supports the supply of the company’s retail network in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria. The greenfield development, covering nearly 100,000 square metres, comprises a large warehouse hall, two adjoining office buildings and ancillary facilities. The hall was built using a precast reinforced-concrete structure, while recessed loading docks support efficient goods handling.

CÉH zRt. provided project management and technical supervision services for the development. Our work supported effective coordination between the project participants and the consistent monitoring of technical compliance throughout construction.

The centre’s operations are supported by modern automated logistics solutions. These include a twin-tray sorter, a voice-directed goods handling and order-picking system, and driverless pallet trucks. Lighting in the large warehouse areas is controlled by occupancy and daylight sensors and adjusted to the available natural light. In addition to supporting safe operations, the system also helps reduce energy consumption.

The development created a high-capacity regional distribution hub in Gyál and gave the Hungarian facility a central role in PEPCO’s supply network across Central and Eastern Europe.
