Richter Gedeon Logistic Centre
The Gedeon Richter Logistics Centre, located in Corunca near Târgu Mureș, Romania, was developed to support the expansion of the company's pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution activities in Romania. The project aimed to establish a modern warehousing and distribution facility capable of storing and dispatching both Richter's own pharmaceutical products and medicines distributed by the group.
Our responsibility was to provide building design services for the complex. Constructed using a precast reinforced concrete structural system, the development consists of two main functional units: the logistics building and a separate three-storey administration building. The latter accommodates offices and staff welfare facilities.
The logistics building is divided into two main sections: a finished goods warehouse and a distribution warehouse. A key aspect of the design was coordinating the different storage and distribution functions, goods handling processes and administrative areas. Given the pharmaceutical purpose of the facility, particular attention was paid to creating a building layout that effectively supports storage and distribution operations.
At the time of its opening, the logistics centre had a storage capacity of approximately 4,000 EUR pallets and could handle 9,000 different products. The development significantly expanded Richter's warehousing and distribution capabilities in Romania, contributing to more efficient pharmaceutical supply across the region.
