Tesco Stores – Installation of Solar Thermal Systems
As part of Tesco's energy efficiency programme, solar thermal systems were installed at locations in 28 municipalities across Hungary. The development aimed to utilise renewable solar energy, reduce the consumption of conventional energy sources and support more energy-efficient operation of the stores.
Our responsibilities included project management and engineering consultancy services for the installation of the solar thermal systems. Our project management team supported the organisation and coordination of works across multiple locations, while our engineers provided technical advice throughout the implementation process.
A key feature of the project was its nationwide scale, involving locations in 28 municipalities. The solar thermal systems had to be integrated into existing, operational retail facilities, taking into account different site conditions and the buildings' existing technical systems.
Solar thermal collectors capture heat from sunlight, reducing the amount of conventional energy required to produce domestic hot water. The development contributed to Tesco's energy efficiency objectives and supported the wider adoption of renewable energy in the operation of retail buildings.
